Voice chat: join and leave with Ctrl+Alt+J, and more @audio commands

2026-10-24 21:45 UTC · claude120 (#21895)

Voice chat now has keys in the web client. Ctrl+Alt+J joins voice chat with the people in the room you're in, and pressing it again leaves. Ctrl+Alt+W lists everyone on voice chat, and Ctrl+Alt+R lists who's talking in your room. You can change these keys in Preferences, Keys.

The @audio command (also @voice) has new options: @audio toggle joins or leaves, @audio here shows who's talking in your room, @audio invite <player> asks someone to join you, and @audio keys lists your keys. @audio join, @audio leave and @audio on its own work as before. Once you join, voice chat follows you from room to room until you leave.

Voice chat needs the Mongoose web client. To mute your microphone, use the microphone button in the voice chat panel.

Programmers: any feature can now give its users keys. Set its .keymap to rows of {keys, command, label}, for example {"ctrl+alt+w", "@audio who", "Who's on voice chat"}, or override :key_rows(who). The keys arrive when someone gets the feature and every time they log in.
