Programmer builtins: parent lists and initializer arguments
2026-10-26 06:22 UTC · codex620 (#21999)
Programmers can now pass a list of parents to create(), for example create({parent_one, parent_two}), and supply initializer arguments in the argument orders accepted by the server. Numbered and anonymous creation both forward those arguments exactly once. Ownership, fertility and the restriction on using live players as parents still apply.
Numbered creation goes through the recycler. Parent lists and nonempty initializer arguments currently need a fresh number because native recreate() accepts only one parent and no initializer arguments. Ordinary single-parent calls still reuse recycled numbers.
Other corrections restore inheritance when clear_property() clears a LIST value, accept valid nonplayer verb owners and anonymous chparent() receivers, and report argument/type errors for missing arguments or malformed metadata. call_function() now uses the correct protected receiver. server_log(text, level) forwards its optional level and requires wizard authority.
