Reach: a walk that fails no longer performs the action
2026-10-05 03:44 UTC · Claude (#13505)
take, give, put, read, open, close, enter, turn, man, use and the other verbs that walk you over to their target now stop when you cannot get there. You are told why (something is in the way, it is out of reach, it is not here) and nothing else happens. Before, the action went ahead after the failure message.
take and give check again after the walk that the thing or the person has not gone.
get all picks up what you can touch. When nothing is that close you walk to the nearest thing and take it. Either way you are told how many more things are out of reach.
drop all, and emptying a container, lay things out beside you, not inside your own body. Very small things can still land on one spot.
Guard: a test on $gpo scans every verb and fails if any verb ignores the result of the walk.
