# TYLER
**Tyler** is a name found on numerous planets throughout the Galaxy,
though its precise origin has been lost in the mists of time, probably
around the same time someone lost the instruction manual for the
Infinite Improbability Drive.
## Etymology
Linguistic xenoarchaeologists believe "Tyler" originally
meant "maker of tiles" on Earth, which is remarkable
considering that tiles are one of the few things in the Universe that
almost nobody ever needs to make in a hurry. This has led to the
philosophical conclusion that Tylers are either very patient people or
very bad at choosing profitable career paths.
## Notable Tylers
**Tyler of Betelgeuse VII** - Famous for inventing the Pan-Galactic
Gargle Blaster Lite, which had 30% less brain-smashing capacity than
the original. The product was discontinued after three days when it
was discovered that people drinking Pan-Galactic Gargle Blasters were
not particularly interested in moderation.
**President Tyler** - Not to be confused with the Earth president of
the same name, this Tyler was elected Supreme Galactic President for
exactly four minutes before being eaten by his own campaign manager,
who turned out to be a Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal in a very
convincing suit.
## Tyler's Paradox
A minor philosophical conundrum stating that if you meet someone named
Tyler, there is a 73% chance they will tell you about another Tyler
they know, leading to an infinite regression of Tylers. This has never
been satisfactorily resolved.
